Soaps.com has learned that the Emmy pre-noms are in for the 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards. Guess who is on the list from Days of Our Lives?
For the lead actress category, Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady) and Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) are pre-nominated.
Hope was a busy woman this past year. She and Bo had issues over his visions, she shot Kayla by accident, her own child, Ciara was kidnapped, and Bope’s relationship had not been the same since. Tough year. Lots to work with. Hope always clung to hope; while Bo flaked out, she tried to be a rock and it showed.
What didn’t happen to Sami this year? She gave birth to EJ’s kid, hid it from everyone, “adopted” Grace, who died, was mourned and then to top it off, she learned that baby wasn’t even hers and that Nicole switched babies at birth. 2010 didn’t get much better for her but the pre-noms don’t cover this current year. Ali must be exhausted. All that crying, all the worry, the heartache. I’m always amazed by how much time she can spend not crying since I assume that Sami is actually a fish on dry land trying to keep herself surrounded by enough water so she doesn’t suddenly die.

Crest Glide and Alison will join Feeding America to host the Crest Glide Tight Spaces Challenge events this month in Los Angeles and New York. Alison will encourage the crowd to show their prowess at sliding and gliding through a specially designed Tight Spaces obstacle course. For every person who participates in the Tight Spaces Challenge events, Glide will donate $1 to Feeding America. Additionally, Crest Glide is encouraging others to tweet about tight spaces on Twitter. Consumers are asked to tell Glide about the “Tight Spaces” in their lives using the hashtag #GlideTightSpaces. For every person who tweets with the hashtag #GlideTightSpaces through December 31, 2009, Crest Glide will donate $1 to Feeding America. Crest Glide will make a guaranteed donation of $20,000 to help ensure families across America will have food on the table this holiday season.
The Tight Spaces Challenges will be held in New York City, Tuesday November 10, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 PM. in the Southwest Plaza of Union Square, Manhattan and in Los Angeles on Saturday November 21, 2009 from noon to 4:00 PM. in the center court of Hollywood & Highland.

It all started out when rebellious Julie Olson, (Charla Doherty), was arrested for stealing a fur coat from a department store in order to get the attention of her parents, Addie Horton Olson (Patricia Huston) and Ben Olsen (Robert Knapp). Of course, she lied to the police, telling them her surname was Horton and got her grandparents Tom and Alice involved. Since that day, November 8, 1965, there has been a cornucopia of drama, romance, and adventure being played out.
Sunday November 8, 2009 marks Days of Our Lives’ 44th Anniversary. To celebrate, we would like to congratulate the show on 44 entertaining years and show the fans the very first opening sequence, along with clips from the first episode.
The episode 1 cast included Macdonald Carey (Dr. Tom Horton), who incidentally has been the voice in the opening sequence all these years, Frances Reid (Alice Horton), who is now a recurring character, Marie Cheatham (Marie Horton), John Clarke (Mickey Horton), Dick Colla (Tony Merritt), Charla Doherty (Julie Olson), Robert J. Stevenson (Detective Mike), Geraldine Lawrence (Diane), and Simone Pascal (Carol Proctor).
The first episode takes place at the Horton house, the police station and Bartlett’s Department Store.
Today Ali attended the “Days Of Days” Fan Event in Los Angeles – only a few photos have surfaced so far (also featuring Galen) but check back later for more updates.
